Members of the Slave Lake Motocross Association performed well at an AVMX Series event in Whitecourt on July 5 and 6.

Racing on a sometimes muddy track, they won a few races and placed well in several others.

Brady Dick and Chris Wilson were winners in their categories – +30 Novice for Brady and +40 Intermediate for Chris.

Chase Labby won races both days in the Under 30 A category and second in something called ‘GPA.’

John Hunt was a second-place finisher in the +40 Intermediate.

Kailey Dick was another silver medalist, second overall in the 50cc B class on the Saturday.

On Sunday, Dick moved up to A Class and took fourth place.

Savannah Hunt took third place in the Ladies B class on the Saturday, as did Bree Labby in the Ladies A.
Moving along, we find Lily Burley taking fifth in the 50cc B on the Sunday, and Jayden Dick picking up sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth-place finishes in two classes: 85cc and GP Mini.

Slave Lake hosts a motocross competition on August 16 and 17 at the Flat Top Track south of Slave Lake.
