What started out as one-time fundraiser has quickly turned into a much-loved local event that continues to grow and consistently draws many out-of-town guests to our region for several days. 100% of funds raised from this event go back into the community and have contributed to things like the creation of the Landon Persson Park & renovations to the palliative care to name a couple. Not only does the Hockey game raise funds but it brings in new people with many of them returning ion their own time, including many of the celebrity guests. Ice Breaker has had the pleasure of hosting current NHL Players, Stanley Cup Champions, Hall of Famers, Olympic Medalists, Musicians, Movie-Stars and even “The Great One” Mr. Wayne Gretzky all experiencing The Slave Lake Region and all of its amenities.
