Founded in 1979, the Traildusters have been riding in Gymkhanas in Smith for the last 40 years. There are over 70 active members and are open to more.
The Maple Crescent Park Committee, also known as Save the Park, has once again kept Maple Crescent Park in business. In 1991, a similar committee raised funds to build the original park and the Town of Slave Lake donated the land.
Wildfires in May and June continue to impact community events. Several events were postponed because of the fires.
