Slave Lake’s most dangerous intersection was the scene of yet another collision on Aug. 3. A vehicle towing an antique car collided with another car at about 1:30 p.m., at Main St. and Hwy. 2. The other vehicle had been towed away by the time this photo was taken. What exactly happened that led to the crash we had not learned by press time. Fire chief Alex Pavcek (that’s him directing traffic in the background on the right) says considering the damage, it’s lucky there were no serious injuries. One of the drivers was taken to the local hospital as a precaution. One driver was local; the other one (the one towing the old car) was from out of town, Pavcek says. RCMP say one vehicle was turning left onto Main St. going north, and the other was heading west on Hwy. 2. Police have laid a charge against the driver they consider to be at fault.
