Join us for Slave Lakes premier summer event, Beach Fest. Coming to the shores of Lesser Slave Lake, on the iconic Devonshire Beach, Beach Fest will be a weekend packed with fun for the whole family. Food trucks will be at the event both days. Events include a Sandcastle Championship, Beach Volleyball Tournament, Kids Games/Entertainment, paddle race, Beer Fest with DJ, Bonfire on the Beach, Fireworks and so much more.

Time: August 12 and 13, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Saturday, August 12
    • 7 to 8:30 a.m. Sunrise Beach Walk/Run
    • 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Sand Castle Competition
      • To register for the sand castle competition, click here. Categories are family, open, youth 10 to 17 years, and children under 10 years. Max of eight people per team. Early registration for team is $30. Late registration (day of) is $50.
    • noon to 2 p.m. – (paddlers meet at the wheelchair access at 11 a.m.) – Dog Island Cup paddle board/kayak/canoe race to Dog Island- $20 per entry – contact Stan Pepper at 780-805-0434
    • 2 to 5 p.m. – two kids’ Shows featuring D.J. Warkentine
    • 4 to 6 p.m. – Indigenous cultural event
    • 6 to 10:30 p.m. bonfires on the beach
    • 7 to 10:30 p.m. beer gardens on the beach, music and games on the beach
    • 10:30 p.m. fireworks on the beach
  • Sunday, August 13
    • 8 to 9 a.m. – sunrise yoga on the beach
    • 9 to 11 a.m. breakfast on the beach
    • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – beach volleyball
    • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – art on the beach
    • noon to 2 p.m. – cardboard boat races for adults and kids
