Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation


Enviro-Quest day camp challenges youth to experience the boreal forest in a whole new way. Campers explore issues in the local environment while building team and leadership skills. Some of the activities include: hiking, orienteering, exploring the lakeshore and other exciting outdoor adventures.

Who: 11-14 year olds and involves field trips to locations throughout the Lesser Slave region.

Time: July 16 to 18, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Location: Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation, Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory, etc.

Cost: $30 per day, or $75 for all three days. The registration form is here.

The camp is a joint partnership between LSFES, the Lesser Slave Watershed Council and the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation. The camp helps to create an understanding between the use, conservation and sustainability of natural resources in the boreal forest while fostering an awareness of an individual’s impact on the ecosystem.
