Frost Fest is a series of events in Slave Lake.

Time: Feb. 10 to 19

  • Saturday, February 10
    • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Family Carnival at the MRC fieldhouse $3, per participating person – Dancin’ Kids Slave Lake performance at 11 a.m. – bouncy castles and other events throughout the whole time.
    • 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. – try sledge hockey – MRC arena – free. Bring a helmet and hockey gloves, full hockey gear is a good idea.
    • 1 to 3 p.m. – Frosting on Frost Fest – cookie decorating at the Rotary Club of Slave Lake Public Library – free.
    • 2 to 4 p.m. – Learn to Curl (adult) at the Slave Lake Curling Club – register at www.slavelakecurling.com – free.
  • Sunday, February 11
    • 11 a.m. – KidSport Family Fun 3 km starts at Schurter Park – $25 for adult, $15 for child to register click here.
    • 2 to 4 p.m. – Learn to Curl (family) at the Slave Lake Curling Club – register at www.slavelakecurling.com – free.
  • Monday, February 12
    • 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. – Winter Storytime & Scavenger Hunt at the Slave Lake Library – free
    • 5:15 p.m. start – preschool ballet/jazz (3 to 5 year olds) at Dancin’ Kids Slave Lake – free (limited spots – register by emailing dancinkidsslavelake@gmail.com)
    • 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. – YES (Youth Event Slave Lake) pool party at Northern Lights Aquatic Centre – free (limited spots – register by calling 780-849-8028 or  on www.slavelake.ca).

    • 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Human Library – Rotary Club of Slave Lake Public Library – free.
    • noon to 3 p.m. Super Snow Day – Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation – free (includes indoor and outdoor activities)
    • 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Ladies Curling Bonspiel – Slave Lake Curling Club – open to all to watch
  • Sunday, February 18
    • 9 a.m. semi-finals, noon finals – Ladies Curling Bonspiel – Slave Lake Curling Club – open to all to watch
    • 10 a.m. to noon – Family Multi-Sport – MRC fieldhouse – free.
    • 1 to 3 p.m. – Family Learn to Play Pickleball (suggested age 10+) – MRC fieldhouse – free
    • 2 p.m. – Wonka movie matinee – Rex Theatre – free.
  • Monday, February 19
    • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Frolic in the Park – Schurter Park – free (includes toy mountain, firepits, train rides, hot chocolate, and more).
