Students from across the Lesser Slave Lake region and the Lesser Slave Watershed are invited to create a poster for the theme:
” The benefits of healthy wetland ecosystems ”
Entries should include benefits like supporting diverse plant and tree species and providing homes to wildlife, including insects, birds, amphibians and mammals. Wetlands also provide valuable ecosystem functions like cleaning and filtering water and they help to reduce flooding by storing large amounts of rainwater.
