Every so often the Rotary Club recognizes young people who are making a difference in their community, mainly by volunteering. It’s called Rotary Top Five Under 20 program, and this year’s recipients are Ayiza Shah, Asmitha Sathish, Katie Dennis, Eva Boucher and Jerzie Green. The girls were given their certificates and $50 prizes at the Slave Lake Rotary’s May 21 meeting at the Holiday Inn. All five give generously of their time in various ways – volunteering at the seniors’ lodge, coaching younger kids in sports – that sort of thing.
