The third Monday in January is known as Blue Monday because of a variety of factors from lack of sunlight to being a few weeks after Christmas. However, just because a day is rumored to be blue, doesn’t mean people have to be sad.

On January 16, 2023, the Slave Lake and Area Mental Health Network (SLAM) and Lesser Slave Lake Regional Arts Council joined forces to offer three art workshops that day, to beat the blues. This is part of the SLAM goal of promoting ‘healthy connections and positive activities.’ The Arts Council offers various workshops throughout the year.
