In southeast Slave Lake, Chris and Krista Rockwell have sculpted their front yard with a variety of angles, heights, and colours. Beside the driveway is a flowerbed with a wavy outline edges with rocks. There’s a cluster of perennials by the fence. There are plants under the bay window, in planters up the steps, and a large bush in the middle of the lawn.

Annabelle Rockwell, one of Chris and Krista’s daughters, sits next to her favourite plant in the garden, the one with purple flowers just in front of her. The family dog Bruno keeps her company.

Chris and Krista Rockwell have been married for a while, but these bachelor buttons are a reminder of their wedding. They were first seeded with seeds that the couple had in their wedding favours. There’s also a ceramic bird hidden in the bachelor buttons and a metal bird and bird bath statue behind.

Rocks create a flowing border for this front flowerbed beside the driveway. It has a combination of plants in the ground (separated by wood mulch) and planters.
