A group of hardy hikers set off on a winter’s walk to Dog Island and back on Feb. 5, for the third year in a row.
From what we hear, the eight-km hike took them two hours and 15 minutes, and they all came back safe and sound. Organizer Lili Normand says the going was good on hard-packed snow. It was the first time kids had taken part in the walk. Normand says she usually posts invitations to the walks on the Slave Lake walking and running group on Facebook.
