Cold and rain didn’t stop an annual run fundraiser.
The annual Colour Rush is a 5K walk/run in Slave Lake with coloured powder thrown at the runners. It is a fundraiser for the Slave Lake Child Care Society. On June 8, 135 people of all ages took part in the run which started and ended at Hilda Eben Park. Much of it was on the Allarie Trails.
“It was a great turnout,” says Cleo Carifelle, one of the organizers, “and far more than we expected with the weather that day. Everyone had a great time and didn’t even notice that it was so dreary. The powder brightened up their day.”
Two teen boys were the first to finish the run.
Jachin Boissonneault was the first to finish, followed by Lucas Diaz.
