The Slave Lake Icedogs lost a 10 – 6 game in Enoch to the Northern Alberta Tomahawks on Saturday night. The result of their home game against Fox Creek on Sunday came in too late for our earlier-than-usual deadline for this week’s edition of The Leader.

Getting six goals against the Tomahawks was a better result than in some past meetings between the two clubs. Especially after enduring a terrible first period, in which the Icedogs were out-shot 22 – 7 and gave up six goals. During the next two periods of play, the ‘Dogs fought back and got their share of the chances and the goals, scoring five and giving up four.

Shawn Davis faced 48 shots, going the distance in the Slave Lake goal. Former Icedog Skyler DiLallo got the win for Enoch, with 28 saves.

Linden Bird led Slave Lake on the scoring side of things, with three goals and two assists. Other goal-scorers for the Icedogs were Kaden Cardinal, Kyler Roy and Patrick Bourque, with one each. Roy had a team-leading 10 shots on goal.

The Icedogs are in Edson this Friday night for a game against the Eagles. Saturday night they host the Tomahawks; puck-drop is at 7:30 p.m.
