The Slave Lake & District Chamber of Commerce held its annual ‘kick-off to the Christmas season’ event on Friday, Nov. 19. Called Moonlight Madness, its chief feature is a Santa Claus Parade, followed by shopping in stores that participate by staying open later than usual and in some cases offering great deals!

The Santa Claus Parade was a contest also, with three categories. Winning the Non-Commercial category was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with the Biblical scene as shown.
Northern Lakes College’s float was named Best Overall in the Santa Claus Parade.
