On June 20, 2023, Slave Lake RCMP received a complaint of a theft from a motor vehicle outside of a residence in Slave Lake.

As a result of further investigation, Slave Lake RCMP obtained a search warrant for a residence located in the northwest quadrant of Slave Lake. Slave Lake RCMP, along with the Slave Lake RCMP General Investigation Section, executed the search warrant on the residence and recovered “a large amount of stolen property,” from the vehicle in question.

As a result, a 30-year-old Slave Lake resident is charged with:

Possession of a prohibited weapon, failing to comply with a release order (x4), possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order (x2), possession of stolen property (x2), and unlawful use of a credit card (x2).

RCMP were able to return the stolen property from the car to its rightful owner. It consisted of “electronics and higher-end accessories,” according to acting Slave Lake RCMP detachment commander Sgt. Casey Bruyns.

The accused was released with conditions to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Slave Lake on July 26, 2023.

“Reducing property crimes remains a priority of the Slave Lake RCMP, and we will continue to target these offenders to ensure a safer community,” says Bruyns.
