Joe McWilliams

Lakeside Leader

We won’t call it a landslide, but incumbent Slave Lake mayor Tyler Warman won comfortably in the Oct. 18 municipal election. He defeated challenger Rebecca King by 1,064 votes to 455. The loss ends King’s one term tenure on town council and gives Warman a third term as mayor.

Joining Warman on the new council are incumbents Brice Ferguson (991 votes),  Shawn Gramlich (780) and Julie Brandle (572). Newcomers to council are Francesca Giroux (911), Kimberly Hughes (637) and Steve Adams (612).

Other candidates finished as follows:

  • Darin Busk 547
  • Philip Lokken 502
  • Susan Giesbrecht 449
  • Ronnie Lukan 424
  • Winona Twin 378
  • Ian Cameron 249
  • Craig Hudson 158

The new council gets sworn in on Tuesday, Oct. 26.
