February 22 was Pink Shirt Day, which promotes kindness and takes a stand against bullying. Area students and school staff wore pink and took part in activities. For example, at EG Wahlstrom School in Slave Lake the wellness coach ask students ‘what advice they would give to someone being bullied’ for a video.
Métis Nation of Alberta Region 5 had a give-away of pink shirts. Local businesses and the Town of Slave Lake council and staff also took part.
