Leo Tanghe of Canyon Creek got run into by a deer on Hwy. 2 last week, causing the damage as shown to his car. He says it has been happening to a lot of people lately, and places the blame on the lack of mowing in the ditches.
“The grass is as high as the car,” he says.“You can’t see the deer coming.”
Apparently the deer can’t see the cars either. Tanghe says he’s talked to or heard about at least 10 other such deer strikes west of Slave Lake lately. Alberta Transportation should do the right thing, he says, and get the mowing done.
