If the members of the Slave Lake U18 Female Thunder got any homework done on the weekend, it probably was on the bus. They would have had plenty of time going to High Level and coming back. The team played games there Saturday and Sunday – after starting the weekend with a home game against High Prairie.

Friday night’s game was a 4 – 0 win for High Prairie. Shots on goal were pretty much even, oddly enough; Slave Lake just couldn’t solve High Prairie netminders Sterling Mitchell and Serrae Marie Calliou.

Against a weaker opponent on Saturday, the Thunder shooters had no trouble finding the back of the net. They twinkled the twine 10 times – five of them coming off the stick of Addyson White. Hayden Dierker scored a couple; also getting goals for the Thunder were Emma Okemow, Sadie McMahon and Berlyn Broadhead.

Details on Sunday’s game were not available by press time, but Slave Lake won 9 – 1.

The Thunder get the weekend off. On Jan. 29 they host Grande Prairie.
