Delegation
Conseil scolaire du Nord Ouest (Northwest Francophone Education Region) was on the agenda to present to council as a delegation. However, before the meeting, council amended the agenda to remove the delegation. The reason wasn’t given, but weather may have been a factor, as Feb. 17 was part of a multi-day blizzard. The school division’s office is in St. Isidore, which is 235 km northwest of Slave Lake. The division has received a Government of Alberta grant to explore the possibility of establishing a Francophone school in Slave Lake.

Council gave all three readings to a bylaw to rezone a piece of land between Lakeside Ford and Sawridge Creek for a lift station. See article on Page 1.

Lipedema Canada asked that the lights at Rennie Hall Plaza be changed to purple on June 11. Lipedema is a chronic medical condition that affects around one in nine women, said the written report. The lighting will be to commemorate an event on June 11. Council passed a Kimberly Hughes motion to approve the request.
