You asked for more country music, you got it!

Stage North Association is bringing Alberta country music singer Drew Gregory to town on Saturday October 29! We are pleased to present this great opportunity to get out and enjoy some live Alberta talent right here in Slave Lake with our own local artist: Berlyn as the show opener.

Drew Gregory was 2022’s $50,000 winner of Project Wild, has been Country Music Alberta’s Male Artist of the Year three times, and awarded Single of the Year for “In A Better Bar” in 2019.

Here’s something on Gregory from the musician’s own website, drewgregorymusic.com: “The songs of this award-winning Alberta country music sensation are infused with a down-home realism, a gritty honesty and vibrant sense of rootedness that comes from years spent working the land as a farmer – an aspect of his life that is deeply connected to his talent as a musician, singer and songwriter.”

Gregory has played many concerts and festivals, such as The Big Valley Jamboree, Bud Country Fever, Country Thunder and Dauphin Country Fest. He made his debut appearance on the Nashville North stage during the 2015 Calgary Stampede and has been a staple every year since.

For this Saturday’s show, along with the talents of Drew Gregory, local rising star Berlyn will be the opening act. Berlyn has opened for Charlie Major, Big Wreck, Dan Davidson, Gord Bamford, Kim Mitchell, the Hunter Brothers and has been busy performing all around Alberta. She has released two albums: Rhinestone Cowgirl, and I Play Country Music.

As usual the Elks bar will be open for service. Tickets can be purchased online with a credit card or pay cash at one of our local ticket outlets: The Source, Re/Max, the Rotary Library, Distractions. Prices are: Adult Advance $35, at the door: $40 ($5 less for seniors).

Stage North Association is known for producing quality performances for our community and was recently nominated for the “Spirit of Slave Lake” award at the Business Awards Gala. Stage North Association played a large role in organizing the entertainment for Slave Lake’s All-In Event this past August. Working with local groups in hosting street performers for the parade and block party as well as hosting the 80’s rock band, Streetheart, had Stage North volunteer members very busy for the whole weekend.

The remaining shows for this season include: Ken Lavigne: 3 Knights with a Tenor and a Little Mistletoe, Nov. 27; Tim Tamashiro: When You’re Smilin”, Feb. 24; Live Karaoke with The Nervous Flirts, March 18; and our April show is TBA soon!

Final note: Sponsors for the Drew Gregory show are Mr. Mikes, Super 8 and Apex Well Servicing. Thanks to them, top class entertainment like this can be brought to Slave Lake.
