Alexa Briones won bronze in the female black belt cadet 45 kg category at the 2023 CAnadian National Taekwondo Championship in Toronto on January 4 to 7. In sparring (kyorugi), she made it to the silver medal match, but lost, so she got the bronze medal. Alexa is part of the AB Taekwondo Club in Slave Lake.
“It was a good experience to see all the best athletes all over Canada,” says Ava Briones, co-owner of AB Taekwondo and Alexa’s mother. “We will be back next year together with other students of AB Taekwondo Club Slave Lake.”
