The little unnamed plaza on 1A Ave. SE in Slave Lake came down last week, and a bit of Slave Lake history went with it. It was once a tire shop. When that was shut that down, it was converted into an office/retail building with three units. It had various tenants over the years, including the Cooperators office, Todd Liebig’s chiropractic clinic, a second-hand store and various others. One was a tattoo shop; another was a pet care and supply business. More recently, it was purchased by Lakeside Ford, and according to general manager Chad Babiy, was deemed not worth saving. The space it occupied will make way for Lakeside Ford’s RV sales lot.
